Proyecto SALUD

Mujeres Unidas

Young Women with Backpacks

Mission

Access to healthcare services is a top need in southwest Montana among the growing Latino immigrant population. Based on community input, we implemented a pilot program called Mujeres Unidas (MU).

The program is a five-week intervention of group-based classes that teach stress management, mindfulness, nutrition, and healthy behaviors to Latina women. All classes are taught in Spanish by Native Spanish speakers.

MU specifically focused on health equity, gender equality, and providing culturally competent education.
